Pete, our friend F, and I had been looking forward to going to Ultra Music Festival 15 for months! We bought our tickets back in October. UMF15 was a big deal, because it was the first time they had it for two weekends (it seems next year it will be back to one weekend) and we had to decide which weekend to go. We decided on weekend 2, which is also the traditional UMF weekend. Oh…Ultra Music Festival, Ultrafest, UMF is a techno/electronic dance festival that spans THREE DAYS!

The three of us packed up the vehicle close to mid-day on Friday the 22nd and headed off to Miami. The drive wasn’t bad at all, but after stopping for gas and food, we got on the road later than planned. I think we made it to our hotel around 5pm, when UMF was starting.

After lugging all our stuff up to our TWO ROOM SUITE (oh ya we went all out this time). It was amazing, we had a balcony that we realized we could see UMF from! We also had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a huge living area, and a full kitchen. After pictures and oohing and aaahing, I started to get ready.

Our friend, J, joined us (she lives in Miami)…and we all had some drinks and laughed together….and left a lot later than we planned to get over to the festival. I don’t think we got in until after 8:30pm.

Pete, F, and I went VIP (told you we went all out) and J was General Admission. The three of us zipped up to the VIP entrance no problem, and had to wait a tiny bit for Jen. Fabian and I rushed to the bathroom! PORT O POTTIES. As usual, there was water available to wash your hands on Friday night, but not the next two days (ya that’s how it always is at UMF, I think they should learn and refill every day). Of course, we bring hand sanitizer, hand wipes, and tissues (for TP)…at least a few times I’ll end up in a port-o-potty that has no TP.

Then, we headed off to check out the festival layout. There were lots of people there….being there so late we missed these DJs (and some due to conflicting set times): Martin Solveig, Eric Prydz, Avicii, Umek, Carl Cox, Luciano, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grand, DJ Icey, and Baby Anne.

We ended up at the Live Stage and got some drinks and listened to Boys Noize Live, they were pretty darn good. We stayed there for most of their set. I caught some Ultra Style with my camera on our way over there.

Pete and I left, so I could find a bathroom, and then, grabbed some food before joining F & J! LOL. Oh I had a really tasty empanada for only $5!

Then we went to the Main Stage to check out Tiesto, because I really wanted to. We hung out for a while, but we had a terrible view and since we didn’t know the lay of the land yet, I suggested we go find a better stage.

Pete and I ended the night listening to Afrojack at the Worldwide Stage. It was pretty packed at first, but we found our way by the back and went up on the hill. That hurt my toes, but we had room to dance and enjoy the show! A great end to the night!

We found out that F and J had headed back to the hotel, so Pete and I walked the mile and a half back. Of course, we smartly waited until a majority of people had left, so we weren’t sardined out of the festival area (unfortunately we had to leave that way on Saturday night). We saw the hotel restaurant was open, so we slipped in before they closed and grabbed some food. Unfortunately F & J didn’t catch the kitchen and we shared some of our food. I thought I wanted all of mine, but it was huge…so, eventually I shared. 🙂

All in all the short night was pretty good….though I was a bit apprehensive about going for two more days with the clogged area by the Worldwide Stage..that has port-o-potties on the other side. Little did I know…worse was to come in that area! (That was more *foreshadowing*).
