BzzAgent and BzzCampaigns

Last year, a cousin of mine told me about BzzAgent. When she told me, I thought it was neat, but I had to wait to sign up, because we were moving out of state soon. After moving, I signed up. I wasn’t sure what BzzAgent was…but she told me of being in some awesome campaigns and I couldn’t wait to get in some!

When you join, you have to fill out information about yourself and share your blog (if you have one). Then you will start getting surveys to answer and more surveys…and then you wait for a BzzCampaign (there used to be more actions – BzzScapes, but they removed these).

Well, I got a few campaigns that were online to start with…and have to say they did not thrill me. These included: StyleFind, about.me, and Apptivo. Well, I never used the first or third. I did sign up for them all, and I did look into what they were about…but yep didn’t use any of them really.

I finally got a real, physical BzzCampaign in July 2011 – Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heels Insoles…woohoo! These campaigns come with a BzzKit – information on the best way to share the Bzz about the product, free product or coupon, and discount coupons to share. The campaign made me dig out my high heels (after we moved, and working from home, I hadn’t needed them)…and try out these inserts. They definitely prolonged the wearing of painful high heels.

The next physical campaign I got invited into – was for my cat – Hill’s Science Diet Ideal Balance! She’s still enjoying that food right now! And my most recent campaign is another digital one for Live Below the Line – sharing information about how a lot of the world lives and attempt to live on $1.50 worth of food a day for 5 days – should be interesting.

The happier the smiley dude, the better you are doing in your campaign, yes star eyes are good!

So, as you can see – quite varied campaigns, and not as many physical ones as I’d like, but I still love BzzAgent and sharing my thoughts on products, and can’t wait for more campaigns.

When you are a BzzAgent, you should share information and your thoughts online – Facebook, Twitter, your blog about the campaign you are in. Also, you can share face-to-face and on the phone with people. And, of course share any coupons that you have….to spread the Bzz about it! When in a campaign, do all the required activities (Post to FB, Twitter, Write a Review, Write a Blog Post, etc.) keep your BzzScore high! Also, answer surveys to keep your score high!

My current BzzScore and being the highest is not helping me get a lot of campaigns, so I refer to the other reasons one gets campaigns.

BzzScore and your demographics determine your eligibility into campaigns…its frustrating having a high BzzScore, but not being invited to BzzCampaigns….I just have to remember that’s not the only thing taken into account – answers to surveys, gender, location, age, marital status, child status, income, etc…all determine which BzzCampaigns you get invited to.

Have fun being a BzzAgent and sharing the Bzz about whatever campaigns you are a part of…it’s really that simple! And, remember to be grateful for the ones you do get in and you can always turn down ones you have no interest in, because you won’t have as much fun Bzzing about something you don’t like. I do that now, I did not do that to start because I was so eager to get into campaigns. That’s life!

I have been a member of House Party since fall of 2010. I have had a Sabra House Party, Green Works House Party, Budweiser Backyard BBQ House Party, and riceworks House Party! So, this Silk Marvelous Mornings House Party made my 5th House Party since joining!

The party pack arrived in early April for a party on April 21st (though I had mine on the 22nd). When I found out I had won this House Party, I decided to do a breakfast for dinner party! I bought mini boxes of cereal – General Mills and Kellogg brands, Post Great Grains cereal (had a free product coupon for that), eggs, bacon, salsa, all 3 Silk Fruit & Proteins, Silk Almond, Silk Coconut, a fruit tray, and some pastries. I decided to make Eat:Watch:Run’s Paleo Cupcakes recipe – mine came out alright, but I forgot the garlic and salt (used bacon instead of ham).

I invited most everyone I know here in Columbia (which isn’t that many people, mostly Pete’s family and signif others)…heh…those that came were Pete (of course he loves Silk products), Nicole, Wes, Elizabeth, her son, Anthony, Shannon, and Mark. Pretty good turn out!

I started the party out by having a Silk Fruit & Protein tasting. I had everyone come up 2 at a time to try all 3 flavors. Then we rated them, and found out that the Mixed Berry flavor was the big hit of the party! Mango & Peach 2nd, and last was Strawberry & Banana – who knew? My favorite is Mixed Berry, but I do like them all.

A few had expressed that they would not like the Silk Fruit & Protein because they do not like Soy milk, but not a single person left thinking that! Even little Z man LOVED Silk Fruit & Protein!

Thanks to House Party I was able to share the love Pete has for Silk products…and I am a bit partial to the Fruit & Proteins…and I do think some of the guests will buy the product.

Last year after moving to Columbia, I really got into finding freebies, deals, and some coupons (more about freebie ones). I started following various people on Facebook, and then their websites (though I still more follow them through Facebook), and later Twitter. Well, over this almost year period, I’ve come to have some favorites I prefer to follow…they are quick to post and post often. And in no particular order….

March 2012 Movies Watched

It’s that time again…to write up quick reviews of the movies I watched in March. 🙂 I know you are looking forward to it.

Dream House – Was in the mood for a creepy movie and it was better than I thought…although a tiny bit predictable and a bit confusing…if that makes sense. Ending got a bit ridiculous…but I guess it was supernatural anyway!

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days – I own this movie, and it’s just silly chick flick fun to watch every now and again. Makes me smile. *Frosting*

27 Dresses – I own this one, too. I enjoy this one a lot. Oooh total chick flick. I couldn’t imagine being so many bride’s maids, but she makes it look like fun. Oh, and seriously, love James Marsden…yum.

I Love You Phillip Morris – We didn’t really know what we were getting into by the description, but it sure let’s you know fast. And, the story … at the end you are rooting for them…but alas…it’s based on real life. Jim Carey and Ewan McGregor were VERY convincing.

Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption – We liked the first two…I own the first one, but this…was so cheesy. New guy tried his best…but when I rewatched the first two…made me wonder when the before store happened. Still confused. O’well. Why was Billy Zane in this one? HA!

Our Idiot Brother – Paul Rudd, oh I have a soft spot for him, ever since seeing him in Clueless. Ahhhh. Anyway, this movie was cute. A lil crazy, but cute. Good ending.

A Knight’s Tale – Hadn’t seen it in so long. Still a good movie, and…awe, too soon.

The Darwin Awards – Weird, interesting movie. Had to check out a movie with Joseph Fiennes and Winona Ryder. Hah…such an interesting concept.

Stephen King’s Bag of Bones – Good mini-series. I enjoyed it. Interesting ending.

My Mom’s New Boyfriend – Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I thought it was a fun, funny movie.

2012: Zombie Apocalypse – This movie had me on edge the whole time…even though some parts were really ridiculous. It also made me want to wait a while before more Zombie movies…and don’t think I said this movie is great…just had me on edge! I did like how they turned animals into Zombies…and that tiger – whoa!

Vanity Fair – Pretty sure this was a rewatch, but I hadn’t remembered a lot of it. Enjoyed.

From Prada to Nada – Cute movie. I wasn’t going to watch it, but was home alone and well that means enjoy Chick Flicks!

John Carter – Saw this at the theater, and really enjoyed it. Definitely could see where Star Wars came from!

The Mummy Returns – Of course I own this! I don’t think its as good as the first, but still enjoyable.

The Goonies – I own a digital copy of this one. And its FANTASTIC. If you haven’t seen it…where have you been? LOL. Such an adventure!

American Pie – Yep, rewatch and own. When it came out, I wasn’t too far out of high school, so I identified with it some, even though I never went to a single high school party (guess that’s why I like to host parties now). Will definitely rent the Reunion when it comes out.

Three Musketeers – Fun movie. Fun cast…interesting way to present. Quite a bit fantastical.

I wonder, do I watch too many movies? Well, you should know we do not have cable, just Internet…so I watch a lot of Netflix – movies and documentaries mostly, some TV shows, too. Well, that about catches up to April…so now will do these monthly, I think. 🙂

SELF Mag’s Drop 10 in 5 Wks – Week 3

Last week I completed week 3 of the SELF Magazine’s Drop 10 in 5 Weeks ‘program’. Some changes this week was a little less strength and more cardio (my choice). Rest day was Saturday. Everyday is warm up 5 min, cool down 5 min. And, when a scale is used its for walk/jog/run with 1 being the easiest and 10 being the toughest. Unfortunately due to the shin splints, I had to walk, which considerably slowed my pace. Shannon is still doing the workouts with me, she was able to walk/jog and I was jealous.

Cardio 1 – Since my shins seem to have shin splints – hurt upon impact during jog or hopping, I had to walk the whole time…below is what I was supposed to do (and Shannon completed).

  • Sprint 8 sec at Level 10
  • Recover 12 sec at Level 6
  • Repeat 6 times using weights, up hills, etc.

This was a 2.39 mile walk in about 53 minutes. Ugh…I should walk faster!

Strength 1 – Again the 8 Easy Toning Moves 12 reps x2. I used 4lbs weights again this week. We both felt this was easier in some ways (being that our legs rested up) and still tough in others.

  7. Reach For It
  8. Heat Wave

Wow…I thought these looked easier, but they were tougher. WOW! I could not do the Cobra Chiseler properly, the whole leg up push up…yep, all I could do to get my leg up and attempt the push-up. Maybe one day.

Cardio 2 – I wanted to walk/jog, but when I tried, it hurt… I ended up walking fast, then toward the end slow. It was supposed to be (and Shannon completed):

  • Sprint 2 minutes at Level 7
  • Recover 2 minutes at Level 4
  • Repeat 6 times

Ended up being 2.56 mile walk in 53.42 minutes. At least a bit longer.

Cardio 3 – Did my own thing. Went for a bike ride by myself around the neighborhood! Cycled 2.72 miles in 21.26 minutes.

Cardio 4 – This was a 5k our way…and it felt great! Just walked of course…again because want the shin splits to heal. It was 3.44 miles in 1.05.56 hours.

Even though I could not quite do the cardio as I wanted…I am still happy that I’ve managed to complete Week 3 of the 5 weeks! Woo! Now, it’d be wonderful if these shin splints would go away so I can get back to the regularly scheduled program!

Friend Finds Freebies

I made a group on Facebook last summer, for those friends of mine that are interested in Freebies, Coupons, and Deals. I posted all these things to my personal Facebook page and realized I probably would annoy a lot of friends with all of them, so the group was started! I just moved this group to a page and now am inviting anyone to join!

It just depends on how busy I am. Friend’s 25th Wedding Anniversary!! (Wknd 4/6-8)

A few years ago, my friend SK, had mentioned that she and her husband, EK, would be celebrating their 25th a few years from then. She had big plans…and I kept that in the back of my mind that I’d be celebrating with them.

Well, last year we moved from Orlando (where they live) to Columbia, SC….and then earlier this year I lost my job..and still looking ATM. SK invited me to celebrate their smaller plans in Orlando…I’m sure with the expectation that Pete & I would not be joining (due to the above situations). I told Pete…and said we’re going…somehow we have to! SK & EK said we could stay at their place, well that helped tremendously! And, I got my tax return in time! I told them we were going, but told NO ONE ELSE in Orlando. We had not seen SK & EK in about a year, so we wanted this weekend to be more about visiting with them than all our other friends (sorry).

Less than a week before our trip, I told one friend, KF,…”we’ll be seeing you this weekend.” She was shocked! LOL! Love that we could surprise some friends…but only ones that would also be celebrating the big 25th Wedding Anniversary!

We drove down to Orlando on…Pete and my dating anniversary, April 6th. Traffic wasn’t bad…the weather cooperated for the most part…a lil rainy. We got into town earlier than expected and were able to stop by one of very good friend’s house – SN, while he was making dinner (well part of) to bring over to share with us at SK & EK’s. Then, we went to Khol’s because it turned out, Pete had left the new shirt we bought in Columbia, well in Columbia. New shirt for him…new dress & shirt for me (what?)…and on to SK&EK’s.

It was great catching up with all four of them…SK&EK, and KF&SN…dinner they all provided for Pete & I was very good.

April 7th was the day to celebrate SK & EK’s 25th Wedding Anniversary (not the actual date). Lazy morning…then once all ready…they had their portraits taken at the Florida Mall..and then we were on to drinks and dinner at Ocean Prime! SK & EK looked fantastic and were lovely hosts of their event…and provided white & red wine for all and appetizers…then even gave us all a cute lil martini glasses filled with M&Ms to commemorate the date! They are really wonderful people!

After…SK, EK, Pete, and I met up another friend, KN, at Blue Martini for martinis and dancing. Wow…have to say…music there was so much better than the dance music in Columbia! Oh, yes, another reason to miss Orlando.

Sunday…KF&SN came over to make all of us breakfast…really nice of them! It was delicious! Have to say…this truly rounded out a wonderful weekend visit.

My Cousin’s Baby Shower (3/31/12)

I received an invite to my cousin’s, January’s, baby shower for the end of March. I wanted to go, I hadn’t seen her in years. She lives in South Carolina, too, but we just hadn’t met up yet. This seemed like the perfect time! Well, Pete wouldn’t want to go, but turned out in his favor it was a girl’s only baby shower anyway! So, I asked Pete’s sister, Elizabeth, to join me, since she’s expecting later this year.

My cousin lives about 2.5 – 3 hours from me, and I hadn’t driven that far in quite a while (I think last time I drove long distance was in April 2011 with Pete as the passenger), and so I was nervous. I had Pete give my car an oil change, as it was time and we had another trip the following weekend. While he was doing that, he rotated my car’s tires, and realized I needed new tires. This was Thursday, baby shower was on Saturday!

Well, on Friday, March 30th, I had new awesome tires put on my car! They were *slightly* cheaper than I anticipated, but not cheap. I felt better…and then that night it thunderstormed. And, the rain wasn’t to let up until Saturday afternoon. Joy!

Morning of…I WOKE UP LATE! I mean, I said we were leaving at 10am, and I woke up at 9:50am. Seriously. Panic…I text Elizabeth. I start getting ready. And, here’s where Pete shows how awesome he is! I wanted to go with Elizabeth to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, but now no time. Well, Pete said he’d got get the breakfast for us! Such a sweetie. He was so set on making sure we had our meals, that he forgot to get his!

All ready and managed to leave around 11am…for a 2pm Baby Shower that was 2.5 – 3 hours away! Amazingly, the rain wasn’t so bad and we didn’t forget anything. Weirdly, traffic sucked on I-20 going there, and I-95 coming back. LOL.

I was glad Elizabeth came with me, because I only know my cousins, and there was A LOT of January’s friends there. Now about my cousins…I got to see January’s mom, Tuesday (my cousin), and five of her sisters – Kelly (& her lil one), Katie, Leah (& her lil one), Jennifer, and Janice, (yep, my cousins)…and later even got to see her youngest brother, Richie (yep my cousin). It was really nice to chat with them, even though it wasn’t for long, due to baby shower festivities. I hadn’t seen January since 2009…Kelly & Katie since 2006, and the rest not since oh my…1998.

About January’s Baby Shower – Her baby shower was so pretty. There was a lovely arrangement of hors devours and delicious cupcakes! There was eating & mingling time. Where we were to also put our addresses on envelops to help with January’s Thank Yous (Great Idea!) and Alphabet decorations for everyone to write their Tips for January & Jesse. Very neat. Surprisingly, no games, instead right to opening gifts, followed by pictures.
