Dec 2012 Movies Watched

When December came, I was really into watching Holiday movies. A lot of them. So many of them that I didn’t even write them all down. I watched them on Netflix, Hulu.com, ABCFamily 25 Days of Christmas, and my own DVDs (Elf, Scrooged, Christmas with the Kranks, The Santa Clause, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Frost, Frosty Returns, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Grinch, A Christmas Story, and now Arthur Christmas, and maybe a couple others.

So, here are the ones I wrote down, remembered, or were in Netflix…that I watched:

Big Lebowski – Pete really wanted me to watch this movie…and I have to say I was liking it..until the end. Then, I felt like my time was wasted. Grr. I know that’s how life is, but I guess sometimes you just want the movie to turn out right.

BigLebowskiElf – I own this. I love this. So cute…so sweet…so ELF! Of course, the ending is a LITTLE BIT OF A LOT CHEESY.

ElfThe Nightmare Before Christmas – I have this movie on VHS, but not on DVD/Bluray…so when it came on Netflix for a while, I took the opportunity to watch it. Like magic in December a whole lot of Disney movies appeared. It’s definitely a good movie.

TheNightmareBeforeChristmasChristmas Angel  – This was a sweet movie. Wasn’t quite what I expected. And, I didn’t realize it was new.

ChristmasAngelAll I Want for Christmas – This story has been told before, but it was a nice spin. I just watched it because it was a Christmas movie, but I liked it. And, I noticed now, there is a movie of the same name from 1991, but this is the 2007.

AllIWantForChristmasHugo – This was an interesting movie. It wasn’t at all what I expected. Looked lovely and the ending was just perfect.

HugoTinker Bell and the Lost Treasure – What can I say…I like these cute Tinkerbell movies. I’ve seen them all now. Beautiful animation…cute stories.

TinkerBellLostTreasureTinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue – You guessed it another cute, fun, beautifully done Tinkerbell movie.

TinkerBellGreatFairyRescueSanta Clause (The Movie) – This was different, and I watched it thinking it was a different movie, but it was pretty good. Not at all what I expected. I mean…they really span the years with Santa and bring it right up to present day (mid-1980s).

SantaClauseTheMovieChristmas Lodge – This was a nice movie, and predictable. I don’t think I focused on it, as much as I got the gist of it.

ChristmasLodgeDear Santa – Such a cute movie. Haha. Even if she starts out as a brat..it ends perfectly nicely.

AChristmasKissCrazy for Christmas – This had a good story. It was interesting. And, you start to realize what’s going on halfway through the movie, but that’s alright.

CrazyforChristmasAll She Wants for Christmas – The okay movie where the unexpected girl saves everything.

AllSheWantsforChristmasMistle-Tones – A new Christmas movie on ABC Family. It was pretty good. Nothing awesome, and not really a new story. Everyone has to learn something. It was a lot of singing…and dancing…and fast-forwarding through practicing. In the end all ends well.

Mistle-TonesChristmas with the Kranks – Just love this movie for some reason. I think as we get older more of us fantasize about having no holiday responsibilities and just heading off on vacation. Some people actually do this. So, this movie is ridiculous, but I enjoy it.

ChristmaswiththeKranksThe Santa Clause – I got this movie from my Aunt & Uncle when I was a teenager…and I’ve been watching it ever since. I do think it was VHS, and now it’s DVD. Doesn’t matter. I just love it. I rewatch it every year.

TheSantaClauseScrooged – I think in 2011 or 2010, I started wanting to see this movie again, and I’m so glad I bought it. Just love it. It’s definitely in my holiday rotation.

ScroogedA Christmas Story – This is Pete’s favorite Christmas movie. And, I have to say, I bought it for him…thinking I didn’t like it. I mean, I never did growing up…I never really “got” it. So, finally I really watch it last year with him and guess what I like it. I “get” it. It’s a good movie…very good movie. And, I got Pete a “leg lamp” ornament. Heh.

AChristmasStoryHow the Grinch Stole Christmas – Heh. I do love this live action movie. I like the extension of the story…seeing more characters. And the love interest!

HowtheGrinchStoleChristmasArthur Christmas – I loved this last Thanksgiving when we watched it and asked for it for Christmas…it’s just so nicely done and such a cute story. Really, a bit ridiculous at times, but hey it’s an animation!

ArthurChristmasChristmas Vacation – I think this is one I actually watched AFTER Christmas because I noticed it was available and I never watched it this season. And, those Old Navy ads just made me want to watch. A classic.

  1. That is a serious amount of Christmas movies. I watched two. heh. My faves are Christmas Vacation and Scrooged. I can watch those over and over.
I hated the Big Lebowski. I think I’m the only one I know that doesn’t fawn over that movie. I remember wanting to leave half way through it in the theatre but stuck it out. Then was pissed I did. ugh. Yep. That long ago and I still remember wanting to leave the theatre. 🙂
